the good faith estimates (gfes) tab helps you create, send, and track cost estimates for self pay or uninsured patients , as required by the no surprises act gfes give patients a clear estimate of expected charges before care is provided w hat you can do in the gfes tab from billing โ gfes , you can create new good faith estimates track estimate status and compliance send gfes to patients view detailed line items and activity history download or void existing estimates gfe list overview the main gfes list shows all estimates created in your practice c olumns and data shown each row includes gfe identifier patient name service service date estimated total status s ummary metrics at the top of the page, you can see total number of gfes total estimated amount compliance rate overdue gfes f ilter gfes you can narrow down good faith estimates using the filters panel filters help you quickly find specific estimates based on status, dates, compliance, and cost you can filter gfes by status draft sent viewed acknowledged expired voided provided date from date to date service date from date to date compliance overdue only non compliant only patient search by patient name service filter by service type estimated cost minimum estimated cost maximum estimated cost use apply filters to update the list or reset all to clear selections gfe statuses explained draft the estimate has been created but not sent to the patient sent the gfe has been delivered to the patient viewed the patient has opened the estimate acknowledged the patient has acknowledged receipt of the estimate expired the estimate is no longer valid due to timing rules overdue the estimate was not acknowledged within the required timeframe voided the estimate was canceled and is no longer active o pening a gfe click any gfe from the list to open its details inside a gfe, youโll find three main tabs overview line items activity o verview tab the overview tab shows a complete summary of the estimate, including gfe summary gfe identifier status total estimated cost service date creation and acknowledgment dates compliance status p atient information patient name a ppointment details service name appointment date link to the appointment p rovider information rendering provider g ood faith estimate disclosure this section includes the required disclosure text explaining the patientโs rights under the no surprises act, including dispute resolution information l ine items tab the line items tab shows the services and charges included in the estimate for each line item, you can see service description cpt code quantity unit price total amount the subtotal and total estimated cost are calculated automatically based on these items a ctivity tab the activity tab provides a full timeline of actions taken on the gfe, such as when the estimate was created when it was sent when it was acknowledged any status changes this log helps with auditing and compliance tracking a ctions you can take on a gfe from the gfe detail page, you can download pdf to save or share the estimate send the estimate to the patient acknowledge receipt (if applicable) void the estimate if it is no longer valid
