👋 getting started with telehealth eggmed’s telehealth feature lets you securely connect with clients through hipaa compliant video sessions you can use eggmed’s built in telehealth platform or connect through an external service preparing your practice for telehealth before offering video sessions, make sure you check local guidelines confirm that you’re allowed to offer virtual care in your state or region requirements differ by licensure type and location create a private workspace choose a quiet, well lit, distraction free space for your video sessions make sure the camera is eye level and you have a stable internet connection creating a telehealth appointment telehealth sessions are set up directly when creating an appointment 1\ open the create appointment panel from the calendar or dashboard , click create and select appointment , or open the appointment panel directly from the calendar 2\ add participants in the participants section select the patient optionally add additional providers 3\ choose the service and visit type in the service section select the service set the visit type to telehealth 4\ select the telehealth platform under telehealth platform , choose how the session will be hosted eggmed platform uses eggmed’s integrated, secure video solution external platform use zoom, google meet, or another video service if selected, make sure the external session link is provided when prompted clients automatically receive their session link in appointment notifications 5\ schedule the appointment in the scheduling section choose the d ate set a custom start and end time or select from available times choose whether the appointment repeats or does not repeat 6\ add clinical notes (optional) under clinical notes , you can add reason for visit internal notes (visible only to staff) 7\ create the appointment click create appointment to finalize the telehealth session using telehealth on mobile devices clients can join sessions directly from their mobile browser within eggmed mobile app to ensure smooth sessions ask clients to use a strong wi fi connection suggest they join from a quiet, private space have them test audio and video ahead of time tips for a smooth telehealth experience use headphones to minimize echo or feedback position lighting in front of you to avoid shadows close unnecessary apps and tabs to reduce bandwidth use check that your browser allows camera and microphone access (chrome and safari work best) by enabling this third party video service, you agree to comply with hipaa and protect client information, including telehealth links need help? for more assistance with telehealth or technical troubleshooting, contact our support team us directly at mailto\ support\@eggmed com
