fee schedules define how much is billed for services and visit types they allow you to control pricing over time and apply consistent rates across billing profiles what is a fee schedule a fee schedule is a pricing table that links services (cpt codes) to billed fees optional contracted fees optional visit type scopes fee schedules can be created, activated, edited, duplicated, exported, or deleted as needed creating a fee schedule to create a new fee schedule 1 go to settings โ billing โ fee schedules 2 click add schedule 3 enter name (required) effective start date (required) effective end date (optional) description (optional) 4 set the schedule as active if it should be used for billing 5 click save effective dates determine when the fee schedule applies during billing managing fee schedule items each fee schedule contains items , which represent per service pricing items can be added by uploading a csv file adding items through the add item action each item includes cpt or service visit type (optional) billed fee contracted fee (optional) editing fees in the items table once items are added, pricing can be adjusted directly from the items table from the table, you can edit the billed fee edit the contracted fee delete an item to edit a fee 1 click the edit (pencil) icon next to the billed or contracted fee 2 enter the new amount 3 save the change changes apply immediately to future billing what cannot be edited from the table from the items table, you cannot change the cpt or service change the visit type change how the item is scoped modify item structure if you need to change the service or visit type, delete the item and add a new one instead understanding billed vs contracted fees billed fee the full charge amount submitted on claims or invoices contracted fee the expected allowed amount based on payer contracts if no contracted fee is set, eggmed uses the billed fee during billing calculations fee schedule quick actions from the fee schedules list, you can use quick actions to manage items โ open the schedule and edit pricing duplicate โ create a copy of an existing fee schedule export csv โ download the schedule for review or editing delete โ permanently remove the fee schedule best practices use effective dates when updating pricing instead of editing old schedules keep only one active schedule per pricing period when possible use csv import/export for large pricing updates review contracted fees regularly to match payer agreements
